Final Task: Title Design

For the opening of our film, planning the title sequence has been an essential part of our work.

My team and I are planning for some of the opening credits of our film to have a normal contemporary font.

We envision most of the titles to be placed on different parts of the screen (not the center).

We wanted the titles to give the audience a feeling of unpredictability, as the titles could appear anywhere on the screen.

The fonts will be in the color white and black depending on the background.

The space between the lines will also have some place in between if necessary, so the words will be easy to see.

For example, if there are two lines, the title could look like this:

D i r e c t e d  b y

H a n n a h  E z a m m u d e e n

We plan on making the letters of the names of the people a bit larger than their occupation.

We plan to put spaces in between each letter of the words that show up on the screen if necessary

However, when the movie title appears on the screen, it will have a more dramatic font and scary tone to it.

By doing this, we wanted to let the audience know that, under the guise of a normal family/friendship, lies something extremely sinister.

Most of the title sequences will be faded in and out.

However, our team can try to embed a title into the movie setting.

For example, with a close up of leaves on the ground that get blown away in the wind, there will be an uncovered title on the ground.

We planned for each title to be on the screen for 3-5 seconds.

We wanted the viewers to want to expect and wait for each title, rather than them being quickly bombarded with the information as if it were the opening for a fast-paced action movie.

The title of this film is likely to be Mother

Our group was also planning on naming the movie Accomplice

The title of the film will be in a much bigger and eye-capturing font.

To illustrate, the title of the film will look like this:

M O T H E R

The fonts will all be the same, except for the title.

As we edit on our software, the exact fonts will probably change, but the plan and tone will likely stay the same.
