Research: Commercial conventions and codes

 As for my commercial, I will be advertising the NITEANGEL harness. In these commercials, the audience typically sees a person (usually the owner) and the pet for which they will be placing the harness on. Also, in some commercials, the disadvantages of other harnesses or leashes are shown and a deep persuading explanation of why the niteangel harness is the best. 

  • The owner of the pet in these commercials wear normal casual clothes that they would wear con a regular day taking their pet out for a walk. The characters are mostly featured with clothes such as shorts, joggers, short sleeve tees, etc. 
  • Props include the pets toys, the harness itself. In some cases, the pets food is also used as a prop. 
  • The appearance is very casual looking with park type of clothes on (on the owner) and also the people in the commercial since the type of commercials are usually done at a park or in a nice neighborhood. They mostly look very calm and normal mostly looking as if they're taking their pet out on a sunny day.
  • The score through these commercials are usually slow-paced and not past-faced. The reason for this is that since it is a harness that is being advertised, the softness, how comfortable and the effectiveness of the product is trying to be shown to the audience. Characters are shown very relaxed like as they're taking their pets out. 
  1. Conventions and codes in NITEANGEL include the name of the harness, which is NITEANGEL. Also the description of the harness. The description includes the material, and what it does. Accompanied by the NITEANGEL slogan which is "ALL FOR YOUR PETS." 
  2. In these commercials, the props are usually angled to show the pet and the harness to illustrate the further effectiveness of the product. They way they do this is by filming the pet with the harness in action (like walking, etc.) This way, the audience can view and be persuaded by what the harness does. 
  3. These type of commercials don't usually include famous people since it is a pet commercial. These commercials mostly include the pet, which can be a bunny, a dog, a cat, etc. And the owner which would mostly be a normal unknown person.

 My group and I have taken a pause from filming. The last day we filmed was Tuesday, March 23. The next day we film will be the last since we have completed most of the film. To better prepare for our next filming session, I am currently reviewing my role and lines. This way, it will be easier not only for me but for my group. This will help us to not have to reshoot the scene multiple times and take more time than needed. In the scenes that are yet to be filmed, my character has many lines and the acting has to be adeuqate. The scene where Emily drinks the tea, she has to faint and act weak. Title Research: The Invasion of the Body Snatchers

  The title sequence of this movie, from Watch the titles website, begins with introducing the novel that the movie is based upon. It also introduces all of the production companies involved. The lettering is in white, thin letters that have neon tones. It then shows the name of the main actor followed by the title. The title of the movie is in the same font as the previous titles. Followed by this are the rest of the actors’ names along with the crew involved in bringing the movie to life. Different images of planetary bodies and the circulatory system. Once, the title of the movie passes, and the rest of the cast and crew are shown, the background images shift from  outer space to images of cells and other aspects of the circulatory system. Final Task: Title Design

  For the opening of our film, planning the title sequence has been an essential part of our work.  My team and I are planning for some of the opening credits of our film to have a normal contemporary font.  We envision most of the titles to be placed on different parts of the screen (not the center). We wanted the titles to give the audience a feeling of unpredictability, as the titles could appear anywhere on the screen.  The fonts will be in the color white and black depending on the background. The space between the lines will also have some place in between if necessary, so the words will be easy to see.
