Music Video blog

Working on this project was a victory, in a way, for me. It helped me in multiple ways. Practice makes perfect and I feel that there are many new things I learned. I know that I have so many more things to learn and I will along the way. Doing a music video was a new experience and it helped me grow. It helped me grow even more as to filming and editing. My group members were of a lot of help and we helped each other learn new things as we worked with each other. I practiced my filming, since I am still need quite some practice. Not only did I learn many filming terms but I also put them to practice. One of the movements I filmed was the pan movement. The actors were sitting down and we were supposed to film around them  which was the pan movement. The zoom shot was also another movement that was used when the actors were a bit far away. The hand held movement was also another movement that I practiced when the actors were supposed to be walking towards the camera. I had to walk ba...

Creative Critical Reflection

  1.       1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?        My product used conventions in the way that we added different factors to the different categories of the music video. One of the elements added was different color lighting. This was used to emit creativeness and make it look more productive. Also, since it was meant to be a fun and childhood tv show music video, we wanted to make it that way too. Through our location, which was the beach, it's a fun place where many people go to have fun. Not only the location but also as mentioned before, different type of lighting so it won't look boring but instead look amusing for the audience. We also used other elements such as transitions to make the music video flow smoother throughout. For my product, with it being a music video that derives from a childhood tv show, the social groups would be kids and...

filming blog

My groups second filming day was on Saturday, December 5th. I was not able to make but my group mates were able to and they filmed that day. The filming location was the same. The same characters except 2 new actors. The two new actors that appeared this second day were: Jayda M and one of our friends, Maria Paula. I was not able to make due to the reasons that our filming schedule got a bit changed because some of us were not able to make it the days we had planned so on Saturday, I had an appointment. My groupmates filmed the last scenes. The lip syncing was inserted into the music video. The scenes that were filmed while I was gone were the scene where Jocelyn catches the boyfriend with another girl. Also, Jocelyn walking around with her friend and the dancing scene at the end. Throughout the filming we made quite a few mistakes and re filmed several times. There was a lot of cutting throughout the editing since we had re do many scenes. There were a few camera movements done. ...

Editing blog

As for editing, there are still many skills and things that I need to learn. I just started editing this year so with certain things, it is very difficult for me. Especially when it comes to new things. An example would be editing a music video because it requires importing music into the video. For the first six scenes, Jayda M, edited them. She cut out the parts that needed to be cut out. She also added transitions to make it flow smoothly. As for the last 6 scenes, jocelyn and I will split them together. The scenes edited by jayda are the opening scenes, the part where jocelyn and the boy are walking. She will also edit the scene where jocelyn and the boy are sitting down, where I’m with the boy taking selfies. Last but not least, the scene where the girl comes over and tells me that the boy is a cheater. The scenes that are left to be edited by meare: the main girl and her friends driving around, the scene where the girl throws ice cream at the boy and where the girl is at the...
