Music Video blog
Working on this project was a victory, in a way, for me. It helped me in multiple ways. Practice makes perfect and I feel that there are many new things I learned. I know that I have so many more things to learn and I will along the way. Doing a music video was a new experience and it helped me grow. It helped me grow even more as to filming and editing. My group members were of a lot of help and we helped each other learn new things as we worked with each other. I practiced my filming, since I am still need quite some practice. Not only did I learn many filming terms but I also put them to practice. One of the movements I filmed was the pan movement. The actors were sitting down and we were supposed to film around them which was the pan movement. The zoom shot was also another movement that was used when the actors were a bit far away. The hand held movement was also another movement that I practiced when the actors were supposed to be walking towards the camera. I had to walk back since the device we were using to film was a phone. I also practiced the establishing shot. Our establishing shot was our opening scene. We wanted to establish the location of our music video which was the beach. There were many other countless scenes where many of these camera movements were practiced. Not only did I grow in filming but also in editing. Since it was a music video, we had to import the song into the video. That as something I did not know how to do and with this project, I learned. There was also a lot of cutting when editing because there were some errors we did when filming. Also, for certain scenes, the lighting was either too bright or too dark and we had to adjust it. All of these skills helped me to grow as an editor. There were many other scenes that had to be deleted because of time limit circumstances. Overall, it was a great opportunity to help me in media.
