Resuming the editing process

Continuing with our film, my group and I have have started editing each of our scenes. There are a total of 60 scenes. Each one of us has at least 12 scenes to edit. Even though there are a few scenes yet to be shot, we have begun to edit the scenes that are completed since there are quite a few. As for me, I have 12 scenes to edit. Beginning with the sharpening knives scene and ending with the mother making tea from the kettle. The first scene that I edited was the knives scene. This scene consisted of a close up shot of the knives indicating that the evil mother is prepping to get on with her sinister plan. Therefore, this scene has a great amount of tensión and suspense as the audience is viewing the dangerous weapon the mom is using for her plan. Which is why I made the lighting of this scene be low key lighting to créate the suspense within the scene. I also made the scene a bit in slow motion to emphasize the mother sharpening the knvies. As for sound, I inserted an eerie creepy type of sound to generate that fear and suspense. That was all of the editing done for that scene. The next scene to be edited was the park scene in which the girls are sitting down on the playground and talking. This scene consists of much suspense because, Emily, the friend does not know the danger she is in while being with her new friend Jane. As they are chatting, Emily seems excited talking to her new friend while the audience knows something bad is about to happen to her at Janes house. This scene was shot as a pan shot so I thought that the most adequate sound for this scene to créate that suspense was a ghostly, eerie sound. As the camera is shooting the pan shot, going around, the sound is ghostly and creepy like generating that suspense. It is also mixed in with non-diegetic sound as the audience can hear the birds chirping, nature sounds and the rest of the kids playing but cannot see them. There are still multiple scenes to be edited but so far these are the two scenes that have been completed.
