  • Emily: “Hey! Finally, we can talk in person instead of just being online friends!”

  • Emily: “I don't know… I dont think I'm allowed.”

  • Jane: “Oh come on. I live just down the street. Promise you, it’ll be quick. Plus, my mom will be happy to have you.”

  • Emily: “Ugh fine. Just for a little though.”

  • Jane: “Okay cool!”

  • Texting clicks

Scene 14:

  • Jane: “See, I told you it was close. Come on!”

Scene 15:

  • Mom: “Emily! It’s so nice to finally have you over. Come in, come in, there’s plenty of room for you.”

Scene 16:

  • Mom: “Just sit right there and I’ll bring you something to drink.”

  • Emily: “Oh no thank you. I’m fine!”

  • Mom: “Oh it's no hassle dear! It’ll make you feel at home.”

  • Emily: “It’s very deli- *clears throat* It’s ver-”

  • Jane: “I’m so sorry.”

  • Emily: “What did you do to me?” *muffled*


Shooting Script

Scene 1

  • A wide, establishing shot of the front of house, including the driveway and sidewalk.

  • Lighting: sunshine

Scene 2

  • Pan of Jane laying in bed with a phone in her hand.

  • Close up of the phone showing a text message and Jane’s fingers typing.

  • Diegetic sound: phone notification sound and keyboard clicks

  • Wide shot of Jane getting up from her bed and walking towards her bedroom door.

  • Lighting: sunshine with slight shade from curtains

Scene 3

  • Wide shot of Mom cleaning the kitchen.

  • Jane comes down the hallway. 

  • Diegetic sound: Mom speaks to Jane as Jane walks in the kitchen, Jane responds, Mom responds back. 

  • Mom gets a backpack from the side table in the kitchen. 

  • Lighting: bright lights from kitchen and sunshine from windows

Scene 4

  • Diegetic sound: door opening

  • Medium shot of Jane walking out, following is Mom.

  • Diegetic sound: Mom speaks to Jane.

  • Jane turns around to face her in front of the doorway.

  • Mom steps back and closes the door as Jane turns back around and continues walking.

  • Diegetic sound: door closes

  • Lighting: sunshine with slight shade

Scene 5

  • Wide shot of the outside of the house as Jane walks down the driveway

  • Diegetic sound: Jane’s footsteps

  • Lighting: sunshine

Scene 6

  • Close up on Jane’s shoes as she walks

  • Close up on Jane’s face as she puts on headphones

  • Now, from Jane’s point of view we look down at our shoes and closing our eyes

  • Diegetic sound: Jane’s footsteps, no audio once headphones are in

  • Lighting: sunshine with slight shade from trees

Scene 7

  • Still in Jane’s POV; eyes open and we see Emily

  • Jane removes her headphones

  • The girls greet each other and walk towards the park

  • Diegetic: silence as we see Emily; once headphones are removed we can hear Emily’s voice; footsteps as the girls walk 

  • Lighting: slightly shaded because of trees

Scene 8

  • Cuts back to the mom at home

  • Close-up on mom’s hand and the items she is sharpening knives

  • Zoom out on moms hands as she continues to sharpen knives

  • Diegetic sound: the mother humming (in a creepy way) as she prepares

  • Lighting: low-key lighting within the house

Scene 9

  • Long shot as jane and Emily are on the swings laughing

  • Lighting: (Dark) Sun is setting

  • Diegetic type of sound as Jane and emily are talking and the rest of the action going on at the park

Scene 10

  • Low angle mid shot to show the mom leaning over to fluff pillows

  • Diegetic sound: Eerie music as the mom is getting her plan ready

  • Lighting: low-key lighting with many shadows

  • Mid shot to show the girls taking selfies on the playground

  • Mid Shot/Pan to Jane and Emily in the parking long as they’re talking

Resuming the editing process

Continuing with our film, my group and I have have started editing each of our scenes. There are a total of 60 scenes. Each one of us has at least 12 scenes to edit. Even though there are a few scenes yet to be shot, we have begun to edit the scenes that are completed since there are quite a few. As for me, I have 12 scenes to edit. Beginning with the sharpening knives scene and ending with the mother making tea from the kettle. The first scene that I edited was the knives scene. This scene consisted of a close up shot of the knives indicating that the evil mother is prepping to get on with her sinister plan. Therefore, this scene has a great amount of tensión and suspense as the audience is viewing the dangerous weapon the mom is using for her plan. Which is why I made the lighting of this scene be low key lighting to créate the suspense within the scene. I also made the scene a bit in slow motion to emphasize the mother sharpening the knvies. Editing process

As the filming journey continues, my group and I have still not finished filming. We have about 3 scenes to film to be able to complete the movie. The scene where Emily and her friend go into the house, the scene where the mom makes Emily fall asleep with the tea, and the ending scene. As I begin my editing process, I am currently still looking over the scenes that I have to edit. I am not able to edit at this moment due to the fact that I am in a different country because of an emergency last minute trip. As I am looking over the scenes, I am writing down ideas to make the film more creative. Also, I am writing down what needs to be edited, for example, what needs to be cut out from the scene. One of my scenes is where the mom is sharpening the knvies. In my opinion, that scene needs to have a bit of low key lighting added along with creepy eerie music since those are dangerous weapons and it leaves the audience at the edge of their set. Filming Review

 My group and I have taken a pause from filming. The last day we filmed was Tuesday, March 23. The next day we film will be the last since we have completed most of the film. To better prepare for our next filming session, I am currently reviewing my role and lines. This way, it will be easier not only for me but for my group. This will help us to not have to reshoot the scene multiple times and take more time than needed. In the scenes that are yet to be filmed, my character has many lines and the acting has to be adeuqate. The scene where Emily drinks the tea, she has to faint and act weak. Practice makes perfect so the more I practice my lines and character, the more unchallenging things will go. Also, I have been looking into the story board my group and I completed. I have crossed out or set aside the scenes we have already completed in the storyboard. I have marked the ones we haven't.
