Resuming the filming process

Last Monday my group and I resumed filming. We continued the filming process, this time, at a different location, a house. We chose to film at our friend, Raquel’s house. The setting was most adequate there. Even though, I was not filming, each of us tried to help when it came to defining angles or deciding how certain scenes would be better shot. For example, the first scene was shot outside. With my friend who was filming, we tried to figure out how to film the establishing shot of the house as one of the main characters is walking out. At first, Hannah and Raquel were working on acting and the filming. While they were doing so, Jocelyn and I were practicing our lines and at the same time rehearsing, getting into character. This time, I didn’t find it too difficult to get into character and remember my lines as they were pretty easy. Certain scenes inside took quite some time to film. Longer than usual as we could not get the acting the way it was supposed to be. I was not involved in the kitchen scene, where it is only the characters: Mom and Daughter however, Hannah, who was filming, and myself helped both of them in regards to the way they were supposed to react, behave themselves throughout the scene and hold certain objects that were required in that scene. For example, the knife the mother is supposed to hold. A lot of teamwork is required when shooting a film. We all had to work together even if we were not participating in that scene. We did not finish our film that day but we didn’t get most of the film completed. Since most of the film is done, I am currently working on reviewing the scenes we have shot. My group and I are yet to decide how we are going to divide up the editing but reviewing the scenes will help to analyze what needs editing and the way each of us will edit. Most, if not all scenes have parts that need to be cut out. Scenes where there are bloopers and we had to do it again. Scenes were the actors were not in character or certain angles were not shot correctly. This will help to decide what flows best when actually editing our parts of the film. All in all, our second filming day was a success and getting prepared with the scenes will come in handy when editing takes place.
