 My group and I have taken a pause from filming. The last day we filmed was Tuesday, March 23. The next day we film will be the last since we have completed most of the film. To better prepare for our next filming session, I am currently reviewing my role and lines. This way, it will be easier not only for me but for my group. This will help us to not have to reshoot the scene multiple times and take more time than needed. In the scenes that are yet to be filmed, my character has many lines and the acting has to be adeuqate. The scene where Emily drinks the tea, she has to faint and act weak. Practice makes perfect so the more I practice my lines and character, the more unchallenging things will go. Also, I have been looking into the story board my group and I completed. I have crossed out or set aside the scenes we have already completed in the storyboard. I have marked the ones we haven't.  Last Monday my group and I resumed filming. We continued the filming process, this time, at a different location, a house. We chose to film at our friend, Raquel’s house. The setting was most adequate there. Even though, I was not filming, each of us tried to help when it came to defining angles or deciding how certain scenes would be better shot. For example, the first scene was shot outside. With my friend who was filming, we tried to figure out how to film the establishing shot of the house as one of the main characters is walking out. At first, Hannah and Raquel were working on acting and the filming. While they were doing so, Jocelyn and I were practicing our lines and at the same time rehearsing, getting into character. This time, I didn’t find it too difficult to get into character and remember my lines as they were pretty easy. Certain scenes inside took quite some time to film.  Today was the first day my group and I filmed. One of our group members was not able to be there filming with us so I filled in for her. She had the role of one of the two main friends and originally, I had the mother role. This made us change roles and I had to play one of the 2 friends since our group member couldn't make it. We filmed at a park at around 3:30 pm. When I first arrived, while waiting for my friends, I went over my lines. There were not many lines to memorize so it was not too dificult. However, while filming, new line ideas came to me and we decided to change some of the lines. One of the lines, for example, was my first line. In this line, I greet my "new" friend. We changed it to make it more casual and teenage like. We didn't want it sounding too formal since we are playing young teenagers.  This thursday, my group and I will start filming our thriller film. As the date approaches, I am working on final preparations before my group and I begin filming. I am going over all of the angles, shots, camera movements, lighting, different locations, and the scripts we put together. We will be using a wide variety of mid shots, low angle shots, close up , and zoom shots.As states in previous blogs, enough research has been done on these type of camera movements since they are the most common ones being used throughout our film. Lighting was a very important factor as we had to schedule our time to film. 3 p.m was the best time to film as there are numerous park scenes to be filmed between the 2 friends. There are also some scenes that will be filmed with low key lighting which is why we decided on 3 as it was neither too late nor too early.  My group and I have not started filming yet but we will very soon. Since we aren't yet filming, each of us is trying to get the most prepared we can. This will help us be ready when we do start filming and it's time to edit. Prior to taking this class, I had never filmed an entire video nor edited one. This course has helped me to develop my editing skills but I do need lots of practice still. Which is why currently, I am investigating editing skills and techniques essential for our film which is a thriller based film. The way our title is going to be edited is in a very spooky feature with very dark colors. Most likely with a knife as a symbol of danger and horror. The titles give a representation of the film and in this case, our film is based on kidnapping. Also, according to research, numerous thriller films fast and slow editing in their films.  As the filming date apporaches, I am currently working on preparing for our filming process. This includes researching filming tecniques, the most essential types of camera movements in our film and so on. As my group and I outlined the filming process, we decided that we were going to use a wide variety of mid shots, close up angles, and zoom shots. These type of angles were found to be very common in the type of film we are making as it creates tension, suspense, mystery, and emphazises on the person's feelings through their face expression illustrated through these type of shots. When researching these filming stategies, one of our essential shot, the close up shot, needs to focus very clearly and specifically on the face. This shot is very important in thriller films due to the fact that it allows the audience to study the person's reaction very closely. It can also be used to capture detail in an important scene.  For the final task, the genre of our film will be thriller. Since my group and I will start filming soon, I am currently looking into specific costumes that should most likely be used throughot the film. Our film will be a creepy thiller including an evil mom with a sinister plan. Based on research, there are many type of clothes used in thriller films. They vary based on the sub genre. Our film would fall under the crime/kidnapping category. However, one elements that stands out in most thriller films no matter what the sub genre is, are the dark colors in the costumes the characters wear. This creates tension as it  covers up the majority of a certain character. As for females in thriller films, they sometimes wear dresses to respresent feminity. For this reason, I particulary suppose that the mom in our movie should wear a dark color dress such as brown or even a very dark shade of burgundy.
